Everything you might ask
Yes, by construction. There are no open profiles and no discovery. A challenge only exists for people its creator approves, and that rule is enforced by row-level security in the database itself, not just by the app. The only public surface is the feed of finished challenges — opt-in, per post, never with photos or day-to-day progress. Data lives in Frankfurt, under GDPR.
IDarU is free: unlimited challenges, unlimited friends, streaks and trophies included. The app shows a discreet ad banner — and some extras, like messages beyond the daily chat limit, unlock by watching a short ad, always your choice. In the EU, personalized ads only run with your explicit consent.
Each link carries a random 143-bit token, expires after 7 days and can be revoked at any time. Even with a valid link, nobody enters a challenge until the creator approves them, a leaked link only lets someone ask.
Absolutely. Solo challenges are a first-class mode: you race against yesterday's you, keep streaks, earn trophies and get motivational notifications tuned for solo mode.
By default it's an honor system: logging is manual and whoever makes up numbers only cheats themselves. For more serious challenges, the creator can turn on photo proofs taken on the spot and confirmed by friends.
In the app: Profile, then Account, then Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible, challenges you created, progress, streaks, trophies and your login are all removed. You can also request deletion by email at privacy@idaru.app.
Yes, but it's quick: email and done. No phone number, no importing contacts. The account only exists to keep your challenges and streaks across devices.
They're optional, per challenge: when you log the day you take a photo on the spot (nothing from the gallery) and your friends confirm it. Photos only live inside the challenge and are deleted when it ends.
